Measuring Happiness

Economists measure well-being by gross domestic product. But are there better ways to measure happiness, measures that help the government to better serve citizens? For over 50 years Bhutan used a national happiness index as a policy tool to help guide decisions. In 2011 I spoke with listeners and filmmaker/activist John DeGraaf talks about how happiness could be measured and discussed examples like Victoria, B.C..
