Gary Oldman

While watching Gary Oldman playing a desiccated spymaster in Apple TV’s ‘Slow Horses’ I was reminded of his previous turn as spymaster George Smiley in the adaption of John LeCarre’s ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier Spy’. In this 2011 interview Oldman talks about Smiley as the ultimate poker face and working with LeCarre on the movie, being raised by his mother, his struggle in his breakout role as suicidal rock star Sid Vicious in ‘Sid and Nancy’, what raising two children as a single dad added to his acting, directing a music video for the Jewish hip hop group Chutzpah shot entirely on a Nokia phone.
