Anote Tong President of Kiribati

Kiribati is an island nation in the South Pacific threatened by rising sea waters. In 2012 I spoke to then president Anote Tong about the options for evacuating all the citizens in the face of obliteration expected by the 2050’s. Tong grew up as fishing, like many citizens. We also spoke about the Kiribati protected zone, designed to preserve the country’s fishing business.
