Happy Birthday David Remnick

David Remnick (born October 29, 1958) is editor of the New Yorker. But back in 1993 he was a staff writer for the magazine when he wrote the Pulitzer Prize-winning book “Lenin’s Tomb: The Last Day of the Soviet Empire”. When we spoke Remnick spoke of the role of the late Mikhail Gorbachev and describes the human toll of the communist regimes of Lenin and Stalin, revealed while Gorbachev was president from 1988 - 1991. It’s an era that today Russian President Vladimir Putin is trying to revive.
