Happy Birthday Anwar Ibrahim

In November 2022 The king of Malaysia appointed politician Anwar Ibrahim (born August 10, 1947)  prime minister, capping a 30-year quest that included being jailed on bogus charges of sodomy twice. He was later released and pardoned, and he became a leading figure in the opposition movement in Malaysia. In this 2006 interview, Ibrahim discusses his turbulent political career, his sympathy for the man who jailed him for 6 years, former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, and the relationship between politics and religion in Malaysia.
