In re-listening to this 2010 interview with Harvard Professor and New Yorker writer Jill Lepore on the battle over American values she wrote about in her book The Whites of Their Eyes: The Tea Party's Revolution and the Battle Over American History, I was struck by how conservatives in the beginning of the Obama administration claimed they were the true defenders of the American Constitution. Today the North Star of conservative faith is the not historic fundamentalism of the Tea Party, but Donald Trump.
